Cody and Teryn met after a whirlwind of life changes and through the most unlikely circumstances. It appears that a massive series of orchestrated events brought these two incredible souls together. The moment they briefly met eyes both of their hearts were ready to explode from their chests. Neither of them knew what to think but they did have a feeling that something great was about to happen. They went on their first offical adventure together on December 3rd of 2017. Cody picked the activity and Teryn picked the place. Of course Cody brought his right hand man Woody, the capturer of all hearts. The duo arrived at 8am sharp to pick Teryn up from her grandparents and they ventured up Ortega Highway to Chiquito Falls Trail. As soon as the three of them arrived, Woody couldn’t contain himself (if you know what I’m saying.) He always comes through with the comic relief. The three of them didn’t hike far before they stopped to soak in the beautiful view and eat some shhnacks of course. Teryn had never seen something so breath taking in all her life, and I’m not talking about the view. The hike was (and felt) not enough for the two of them, although Teryn had to work (as always) so as Cody dropped her off at home they made plans to see each other later that night.

While Teryn went off to work Cody flurried around for hours in an attempt to make his new apartment feel homey. Teryn arrived later that evening to a nerve ridden Cody, a crazy, manic 6 month old Woody, and the intensely anti social cats Hide and Seek. They shared small talk for a few hours before Teryn suggested an “intimacy” questionnaire that she had found on Pinterest. They proceeded to open themselves fully to one another, answering questions that some people have never been asked on a first date like “ what’s the worst thing you’ve done?” Or “who hurt you the most?”. Cody and Teryn went through 36 questions before Teryn realized the final task was to look one another in the eyes without talking for 4 minutes. Her heart started racing as Cody stood up, and walked around the table to sit about a foot away from her, and he took off his glasses. Those two strangers, who felt that little tug at the end of their heartstrings, stared deeply into one another, inquisitively, without judgement or fear, together they ran down the rabbit hole. After 4 minutes the timer went off and with the energy of a star being born, they shared their first kiss. Cody can still recall the thundering of his heart in his ears, the shakiness of his hands, but most of all he remembers her and the way she had managed to do what no woman could possibly bring him to do on a first date, she made him love her. and neither one has stopped ever since.
