I would have never thought that I would have met the love of my life through a dating app. However, that's how our story began. I received a message through said app, from Alex and I was immediately intrigued. We messaged back and forth consistently from that time on, two weeks after, we met in person and had a movie date. From then on, we continued dating, getting to know each other more and more, and it didn't take long for us to fall in love. Our relationship continued and two years later we were engaged. Due to my mom's health issues which family and friends are aware of, Alex and I made the decision to move to Kansas to help my mom during this difficult time. Due to it being an emergency situation, we decided to get legally married and post-pone our marriage ceremony with friends and family. It has taken a while, but we are glad the day has come and soon we will be able to share our special day with you all. Recibí un mensaje a través de dicha aplicación de Alex y me intrigó de inmediato. Enviamos mensajes constantemente a partir de ese momento, dos semanas después, nos conocimos en persona y tuvimos una cita para ir al cine. A partir de ese momento seguimos saliendo, conociéndonos cada vez más, y no tardamos mucho en enamorarnos. Nuestra relación continuó y dos años después nos comprometimos. Debido a los problemas de salud de mi madre que la familia y los amigos conocen, Alex y yo tomamos la decisión de mudarnos a Kansas para ayudar a mi madre durante este momento difícil. Debido a que era una situación de emergencia, decidimos casarnos legalmente y posponer nuestra ceremonia de matrimonio y compartir con nuestras familias y amistades. Ha tomado un tiempo, pero nos alegramos de que haya llegado el día y pronto podremos compartir nuestro día especial con todos ustedes.

On the anniversary of when we first met in person, Alex and I were out having a beautiful anniversary dinner. I won't lie, I did suspect he was going to ask me to marry him soon, since we had already had many conversations about it, and we knew we were both ready to make that commitment. We were at a "fancy" restaurant, where food was grossly overpriced, so I told myself "Be ready, it's going to happen today" I had even gone to the nail salon 2 days before to make sure my hand was ready for ring photos. We finished dinner and nothing was mentioned, we moved on to dessert and I thought ohhh, maybe it will be in my dessert, so I ate my desert with care as to not swallow the ring on accident, but nothing. The night ended and he drove me home, he had already told me he had to work the next day, so we made it a point not to stay out too late the night before since his shift began at 6am. We said goodnight and I watched him drive off, I went inside and took my shoes off, I was confused to say the least, I had thought for sure it was today. I put my hair up and then my phone rang, it was him, he said "You forgot your flowers in the car, I'm not far I'll go back, they'll die in the car." I went to the door and when I opened it he was already standing there, I was surprised and took the flowers from him, he smiled and said goodnight, I turned to go in and then he said "Cosita" (his term of endearment for me) I turned and he was on his knee with the ring out, I immediately started crying, he told me how much he loved me and how he could not continue his life without me, then asked me if I would be his wife, and of course I said YES! En el aniversario de cuando nos conocimos en persona, Alex y yo estábamos teniendo una hermosa cena de aniversario. No voy a mentir, sospechaba que me iba a pedir que me casara con él pronto, ya que ya habíamos tenido muchas conversaciones al respecto y sabíamos que ambos estábamos listos para hacer ese compromiso. Estábamos en un restaurante "elegante", donde la comida era muy cara, así que me dije a mí misma, "prepárate, va a suceder hoy". De hecho habia ido 2 días antes a arreglarme las uñas para asegurarme de que mi mano estuviera lista para las fotos. Terminamos de cenar y no se mencionó nada, pasamos al postre y pensé, tal vez va a estar en el postre, así que comí mi postre con cuidado para no tragarme el anillo por accidente, pero nada. La noche terminó y me llevó a casa. Ya me había dicho que tenía que trabajar al día siguiente alas 6am, así que decidimos no desvelarnos. Nos despedimos y entré a mi casa y me quité los zapatos. Estaba confundida, había pensado que de seguro hoy era el dia. Me recogi el pelo y luego sonó mi teléfono, era él, dijo: "Olvidaste tus flores en el carro, me voy a regresar si no se van a marchitar. Me dirigi a la puerta y cuando la abrí él ya estaba parado allí, me sorprendió y tome las flores de sus manos. Me sonrió y se volvio a despedir. Me voltie para entrar a mi casa y luego dijo "Cosita". Voltie y él estaba de rodillas con el anillo en la mano, inmediatamente comencé a llorar, me dijo cuánto me amaba y que no podía continuar viviendo sin mí. Entonces me preguntó si queria ser su esposa, y por supuesto dije que ¡SÍ!
