We like to think of our story as a modern-day Pride and Prejudice. It all began in 2015, when we met at work. Terrence insists that we first crossed paths during a training session — though, to this day, I have absolutely no memory of it! What I do remember is noticing him during a Halloween event. He was dressed as Clark Kent, and I thought his costume was clever… and that he was actually quite handsome. At first, though, I was convinced he was the most dry, arrogant, humorless person I’d ever met — which is funny now, because I’ve since learned he’s one of the funniest people I know. He would flirt, I would roll my eyes. It became a running joke among our coworkers — the constant back and forth between us. I even tried to set him up with someone else at one point (something I’m very grateful didn’t work out). Eventually, after months of him persistently showing up in my Instagram DMs, I finally agreed to go on a date with him — and the rest, as they say, is history. Of course, our journey hasn’t always been picture-perfect. There were moments when tempers flared and we were certain we’d never speak again. But somehow, through it all, we found our way back to each other. And here we are — ten years later — still laughing, still teasing, and now, finally, husband and wife.
