How we met

Love can be anywhere

Growing up I always fantasized about how I would meet my future husband. Never in a million years did I imagine I’d be telling a story that started with “ We both swiped right”. As unlikely as it may seem to anyone who knows either of us, we met on Tinder! Yes, you read that right. Tinder. At first we both had a hard time coming to terms with a few facts 1) We met online where all the crazies hangout and 2) it just so happened to be on one of the most “SUSPECT” of all dating apps out there. Despite any of that, when we tell our story of how a seemingly shy girl with Vincentian roots meets this good natured Vincy boy online, we find that it gives people hope. While it may have started with me liking his smile and T liking my eyes we knew it was more than just a meeting of chance. After the first few weeks of getting to know each other through Tinder we came up with the story of what we would tell people regarding how we met. We would say that we met through a “mutual friend”. “Mutual friend” being code word for Tinder. Clearly things were going well but we hadn’t met in person as of yet. Then one day I asked Terry if he liked hiking. He told me that he hadn’t done much hiking but that he had hiked up a Volcano once. I WISH I could add sound effects to this story because this would be the point where you hear the loud screech of a car coming to an abrupt stop. In retrospect I’m sure there are other places in the world that you can hike up a volcano but at that moment the only place I knew of was La Soufriere in SVG. So I replied: Volcano?!? Reeaally???? Where did you do that? We finally realized that we both had roots in the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines! It was then that I had to come clean and fessed up to my parents about how we had really met, because now I had to make sure he wasn’t a long lost cousin or something tragic. As it turns out ,he’s not! Yay! But he is the Love of my life and I’m really glad to call myself his wife!

For all the days along the way
