Some college friendships last a semester. Ann and Terrell’s turned into forever. They met in August 2016 during their freshman year at Lawrence University. By their second week on campus, they crossed paths and instantly became friends. It was the kind of connection that felt easy from the start, and by October that same year, their friendship officially turned into a relationship. College quickly became the beginning of their love story. They spent their time binge watching shows, ordering takeout, and finding every possible excuse to be together. Terrell played college football while Ann worked as the team’s manager and filmer, which meant she had a front row seat cheering him on from day one. Raised in two different places, Terrell in Georgia and Ann in Massachusetts, their relationship eventually faced its first big test with long distance. Through visits, endless phone calls, FaceTime, and more airport reunions than they can count, they learned that no amount of miles could compete with what they were building together. Terrell first met Ann’s mom during a campus visit in her junior year, while the rest of the family got to know him through plenty of FaceTime calls. In 2019 he officially met everyone at her mother’s wedding, and he fit in so naturally that Ann somehow managed to fall in love with him even more. In 2020, during the unforgettable chaos of the pandemic and the sudden shift to online college life, Ann officially met Terrell’s mom, proving their story could survive just about anything. After years of long distance, 2023 brought a long awaited milestone when they finally moved into their first apartment together in Massachusetts. Sharing a home only made their bond stronger, and somewhere along the way their family grew to include their two dogs, Remi and Sky, who made sure life stayed fun, loud, and full of love. In September 2024, Terrell planned a beautiful surprise surrounded by friends and family at Ann’s mother’s home and asked her to marry him. She said yes without hesitation, beginning the next chapter of the life they had been building all along. By 2025 their adventure continued as they moved to Georgia into their newly built home. Between navigating the ups and downs of building a house and spending their days working as teachers helping wonderful students grow, they stepped fully into the life they once only talked about during those long distance phone calls. From college freshmen to homeowners, from long distance to building a home, through every season their story has always come back to the same simple truth. They are happiest together. Now they cannot wait to celebrate their wedding this August, surrounded by the people they love most, as they say I do and begin the next chapter of their story side by side.
