Meet our crew that are walking down the aisle with us!

Tiffany

Maid of Honor

Tiffany is a close friend who I go all the way back with since the 2nd grade! We’ve been stuck at the hip and side by side ever since. From elementary school, to middle school, to high school, to college and now us as adults we still consider each other as a lifeline for one another. Tiffany is a good time no matter the situation and is a source of positive energy no matter how challenging circumstances may get. When I moved to Tampa to attend the University of South Florida, the transition was made easier with Tiffany by my side. It’s a privilege to have Tiffany as a part of my bridal party and by my side once again to get me down the aisle.

Jessica

Matron of Honor

I met Jessica in 2012 through our Illustrious sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Jessica is my country line sister, literally. I clicked with her from the moment I met her. She always loves to tell my story about strawberry cornbread. But we can save that story for another time. Jessica has always been so genuine and supportive of my life endeavors. From the time I met Terrell, she would always talk about my future with him. Now here we are. We went from planning sorority events to planning a wedding. I was able to be a part of her special day as she walked down the aisle to her husband and now she is going be there the same way for me. I am thankful to have her alongside for this journey.

Janea

Matron of Honor

5 year old Amira: “You want to be my friend?” 5 year old Janea, not really sure what she was agreeing to do: “Yeah.” That’s literally the question I approached Janea with in KINDERGARTEN! Of course she said yes because I was the only cool kid. We literally have grown up together through each phase in life thus far and our friendship has never changed. She’s more than a friend, is she’s a sister to me. She’s always there to offer genuine advice and support. Now yet again, I asked her another important question and she said yes! Janea, you may not know exactly what you are agreeing to once again, but thank you for being by my side and riding the wave with me.

Nikki

Bridesmaid

Nikki is someone I met through a dear mutual friend. She has been there with me through some of my hardest times and major accomplishments. I’ve meshed with her family so well to the point where she lets me know what Mr. Marshall is cooking for every holiday so that I can come and indulge. She and her family have always welcomed me with open arms. I’ve shared some of my best life experiences with her. She’s also the ultimate hype man. The next step in life awaits for me and as always, Nikki is there cheering me on one of the biggest days of my life.

Genesis

Bridesmaid

Genesis is someone that I can count on for honest conversation and advice. I met her through mutual friends several years ago and as time goes on, our relationship continues to grow and blossom. From the start of my engagement, she’s offered me advice and gifted me a book to read to manifest a healthy start to our marriage. One thing is for sure, I can always count on Genesis for two things- to be late and to have a good time no matter where we are! January 2022 is going to be a little different, we going to be on time and have an unforgettable time walking the aisle.

Tee

Bridesmaid

Tee has been my Day 1 since the start of nursing school in 2019. She sat with me on my 27th birthday at Chili’s after our very first med calc exam. I’m sure we had a million other things that we should’ve been doing to get ahead at the start of our first semester of nursing school. Tee only knew me as her new classmate, however, she set aside time to celebrate life with me. From that day I knew that our friendship would go beyond just nursing school. We are currently coworkers and continue to support each other through our nursing journey and life accomplishments. Tee, thank you for always doing life with me and agreeing to celebrate one of the biggest days of my life!

Max

Best Man

Some say the unspoken language between young children is the art of play. For Max and I, this is what started a long friendship and mini rivalry. On the basketball courts in 6th grade, we both brought our own teams to play a quick game before class started. Neither of us knew the final score, but we did know that none of our teammates were any good. From that day forward we became best friends playing on the same team never looking back. Max is my righthand man and is always there when I need him without question. So of course, this goes without saying, the same best friend that was there when I met Amira, will be there when I marry her.

Jean

Best Man

Jean and I met similarly to Max. I switched to an earlier P.E. Class due to it being overcrowded. The most important thing to remember in middle school during P.E. was to bring your shorts. I forgot mine that day. I was upset. Jean taps me on the shoulder & says “Are you about to cry?” We both bust out laughing. He then tells me he always packs an extra pair of shorts. He throws them at me and says keep the change. At the end of P.E., I look over at Jean and he has a bag full of morning routine items: soap, wash cloth, deodorant, brush, and most importantly dukes pomade wave cream. I had never met a 10 year old who wanted to have waves and be spotless before going to 2nd period. Ever since, Jean has always been my Right Hand Man and he will be right by my side as one of my Best Men.

Terrence

Best Man

I have known Terrence for quite some time. I can’t remember the year we met. What I do remember is being in youth church wondering if anyone here is cool enough to hang around. Terrence and I share similar interest in video games, sports, and singing. We both joined the young adult choir shortly after we met. Our infamous song which always had the church congregation excited was “Hallelujah, Salvation and Glory”. Since both our names begin with T, we became the duo “TNT”. Most people in the church thought he was a bad influence since he was a few years older than me, but that was far from the truth. What they didn’t see was how many times he protected and shielded me from negativity and bad decisions. He will forever be family to me and proud to have my brother there with me on my big day.

Mike

Groomsman

I met Mike through Max at the University of Tampa gym. I might not be the strongest man alive by any means, however, that never stopped me from trying to out preform my opponent. We were playing a small pickup game and I attempted to post Mike up. At that point, I knew he had to be the strongest person in Florida. Not only did he move me from my spot, he then proceeded to pick me up off the ground walking me completely out of bounce. I later learned he was a state champion wrestler in high school. Aside from being the Hulk, he’s very knowledgeable. If I need any advice on relationships, budgeting, or houses, he is my go to person. Now Mike, has a forever position in Amira and I’s love story and I am happy he will be posted up with me as my groomsman.

Charles

Groomsman

In 2014, one of the best video games to ever drop brought Charles and I together- “Destiny”. From fighting the Cabal on Mars, to exploring the depths of the vault of glass, we bonded over the pure joy of the video game world which captivated our imagination. The first time we met in person was on a trip to his hometown Jacksonville to visit family. I was lost so I called him. He said “I see you, walk up the hill.” Keep in mind we had never seen each other, I’m thinking he is 6’2 since he is standing on the top of the hill. By the time I got next to him I asked him “Didn’t you say you were 6’5?" We started laughing. He's comical. Either way, whenever I need a voice of reason he is there to listen and he will be there once again as my groomsman.

Anthony

Groomsman

I haven’t known Anthony for a long time, but you wouldn’t be able to tell. We became friends through our common interest in video games and most of our arguments stem from him believing he is a better player than I am. Deep down, I’m sure he knows the truth, he really isn’t on my level. But our friendship surpasses just videos games. We are actual grown men here. We connected through our professional careers. With both of us being in the medical field, this allowed me to bounce ideas of my career growth and my own personal development off of him. He is someone who can provide great advice when he’s being serious. If the phrase “you play too much” was a person it would be him. I’m glad he will be there standing next to me on one of the most serious yet joyous day as my groomsman.
