He caught my attention when i was leaving my interview (yes, we met at work). Tall, handsome and wearing a fuzzy hat... indoors. No missing him. One day I was sitting in the break room with some co-workers, Terry came in to get a snack. Honestly I can't remember what he said. But I just remember he made me laugh one of those laughs that just comes bursting out. I remember thinking "Handsome and funny". He caught my attention again. One morning I was at a coworker’s desk and Terry walked by. I turned to her and said "That is a good looking man". I also told her I wondered if he could be related to the Howard's that I use to live by. She wasted no time inviting him to come over so that I could ask him. He was not related. But before he could leave, she let him know that I thought he was handsome. Now I think I had his attention. And the flirting begins. He claims he was not flirting. You tell me. I was in line with my son at JCPenneys when I heard someone yell from across the room "Hey ... you don't have to stalk me. If you want to go out with me just ask". I looked over to see that gorgeous smile. (Nut) This happened two more times. And no, I did not ask.
In 2014 I was offered a contract to do a conversion relating to the state of Connecticut for Frontier Communications in Rochester New York. Now I had heard the stories about the winters here but it was a pretty good contract so I came. I was not enthusiastic about being here initially, actually after 2-3 months I was thinking about how to get out of here and go back to Philadelphia. But in time I adapted and settled in. About a year into the project the project had grown to where additional personnel were needed and a round of hiring occurred. One of the new hires was Sandra Brown. Did I notice her? Yes, I thought she was attractive, however my inner voice was saying no office romance. However I found myself meandering over to her desk now and then just to say hello and to get through the monotony of the day, I noticed she had a ready smile (I like that smile) and she even laughed at my comments. To this day she says I was flirting with her but honestly I wasn't, I was just being friendly. One afternoon I asked her if she would like to go out and she accepted. I took her to a restaurant not only to impress but to see what she was like away from work. We had a nice time, conversing and such, just a real nice evening. A week or so later she asked me to a play. Another good time. A few movies, dinners later and it was obvious we were dating. Now when I/We fell in love I cannot place a time or date of that, but then who can? We started talking of marriage and I was not adverse to it, well you know how that goes. One day we were at the mall and we passed a jewelry store where she saw a ring she liked (she had done this before). I looked at it and liked it also but showed no emotion. She went home that afternoon as did I. While at home I decided to go back and buy the ring. I proposed about a month later in front of her family. Now come 9-22-19 we are to be married and her name will be Mrs. Sandra Gail Howard.
