Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off
Join the party in Memorial Park! Weather permitting, there will be balloons going up on the morning of the 30th, 31st and 1st, and in the evening on the 30th and 31st as well (the night glow after dark is very pretty). We love to go every year! So far, they have let people go right up to the balloons and entry is always free! See the website for more details.
Garden of the Gods
A must see when visiting Colorado Springs! One-of-a-kind rock formations, free to the public.
Helen Hunt Falls and hiking trails!
You can see Helen Hunt falls right by the road! The park is free to visit, and 2 of our favorite hikes there as well: Hike Mt Cutler for an easy 1.9 mile route (great views over the city and Seven Falls), or hike Seven Bridges for a moderate 3.5 mile route (lots of waterfalls). I would suggest visiting in the morning when it is cooler and less busy.
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
A zoo on the side of a mountain! A fun place to spend the day!
Pikes Peak Cog Railway Peak Station
The cog railway is a fun and scenic way to get to the top of pikes peak! You can also drive to the top if you prefer. Either way I would reserve ahead of time since it's a holiday weekend.
Seven Falls
Actually never been here but it is a popular tourist destination. I will try to visit before the reception so I can give better feedback.
