The resort is across the street (within walking distance) from the marina, shopping mall, local shopping and outdoor restaurants. It is safe to travel out in groups during the day and there are many people wanting to schedule you for timeshare presentations (offering free this or that) as well as people offering to schedule your excursions. I always schedule my excursions in advance using Airbnb, Expedia Viator or you can also schedule with Amstar (our transportation to and from the airport - guaranteed to be more expensive) when you check-in with them on your 1st day on the resort. You can always negotiate with the locals (WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS) so remember, "You get what you pay for!"
