Travel Note
Flights: - Fly into SFO, OAK or SJC Cars/Transit: - We recommend public transit or Uber/Lyft to get around SF. Unless you plan to spend time outside of SF, rental cars are not necessary. - If you do rent a car, don’t leave anything visible when you park - “smash and grab” robberies are an issue in SF. Hotels: - We’ve recommended three hotels at different price points on the north side of the city, linked on this Travel page of our website. - We did not set up hotel blocks. - You don’t need to stay at these hotels, but we do recommend staying in these neighborhoods (Cow Hollow/Marina, Fisherman’s Wharf) since they are close to the Friday night event, the wedding reception, and the wedding after-party. Neighborhoods: - If you don’t stay near one of our recommended hotels, we recommend finding a hotel or Airbnb in our neighborhood - the Inner Richmond, the best neighborhood in SF ;) - Or, check out Central/Outer Richmond, the Presidio, Russian Hill, North Beach, Pacific Heights, Haight/Ashbury, or the Inner Sunset. There are other great neighborhoods in the city, but you’ll be further away from the weekend’s festivities. San Francisco is largely a safe city with relatively low violent crime rates, but to ensure you have the best SF experience possible, we wouldn’t recommend staying in The Tenderloin, Civic Center, Union Square, Lower Nob Hill, or SOMA. If you’re not sure, don’t hesitate to reach out.
