We met on a chairlift at Brighton Ski Resort in Utah, introduced to each other by a mutual friend. Though we didn't start dating til later that year, skiing is what brought us together and propelled us into the fun and adventurous life we have built together.
We kept our relationship secret for a long time... thinking people would care about our age difference (surprise nobody cared). We went camping in Southern Utah because Jeff had never been down there before. One morning we were just talking and I looked at him and said "Hey listen, I think I love you". He was saying "I love you too" before I even finished my sentence!
Jeff has joined his dad in going on an annual special fishing trip that always lands on our dating anniversary. This year, after he was given the usual grief for leaving he ended up scheduling a camping trip for us to celebrate our anniversary the week before the fishing trip. He planned a whole weekend down in southern Oregon on the coast. We got out of work, drove the 5 hours to the beach, parked the car on the sand and he started up the grill to make dinner. We made a cocktail and watched the sun set together. He said "hang on I'm going to get my camera". Next thing I know he is on his knee asking me if I would marry him! My response was "Really? Really?? Really?! Yes!!!" We kept it to ourselves to enjoy the weekend then called everyone at the end of the trip to share the good news.
