Teri's favorite spot in Los Angeles, you could spend all day here and still have lots to learn! A variety of guided tours come with the admission fee.
An off-shoot of Homeboy Industries, Homegirl Cafe is an organization that employees former gang members trying to make their lives better. It's a great place to stop by for breakfast for lunch on a trip to Downtown Los Angeles.
This is a fairly touristy area but it's where Los Angeles began! Lots of vendor carts that sell "authentic" Mexican trinkets. There are a few places to get Mexican food here as well. It's cute to stroll through and sometimes they have live mariachi bands playing in the square.
A lovely collection of shops, eateries, and play areas, The VIllage is one of our go-to spots for weeknight walks and weekend treats.
Gorgeous and FREE (though it wouldn't be LA if you didn't have to pay for parking), the Getty is a great place to spend the day learning about art and history! The guided architectural tour offers a ton of information about the museum itself, and self-guided audio tours give insight into the art you will look at. They also have good food and coffee.
The 3rd Street Promenade is a walkable shopping area just a few minutes from the beach in Santa Monica. Great shopping, eating, drinking, and lots of street entertainers make for a pleasant way to pass the day.
This is a lovely place to enjoy local wines on a cool December day. It's right off the Pacific Coast Highway and directly across from the ocean.
Like Chuck E. Cheeses - for adults.
Stonehaus combines a wonderful outdoor dining experience with excellent wine, wood-fired pizzas, and a menu that can suit all tastes and dietary needs. The live music and bustle of fellow customers and their dogs has made this our newest favorite spot.
