In 1997, Teresa went to work as a Dispatcher for Rural Metro Ambulance Service in Columbia, SC. There, she met Jeff, who was an EMT. They never really talked, other than, "Hi, how are you?" but little did they know that many years later they would become the best of friends. After 7 months, she decided that she wanted to go to EMT school, but in order to do that, she had to quit Rural Metro and go to work for a company that was willing to work around her school schedule. Needless to say, she went on to become a Paramedic. When her daughter was in high school, she was in the color guard, and this meant traveling to different schools for football games. While at one of the football games, Jeff and Teresa met up again. It had been over 10 years since they last saw each other, but they still remembered each other. They friended each other on Facebook, and after several months, Teresa asked Jeff if he would mind going to see a movie with her because she didn't want to go alone. Of course, Jeff said yes, and that started what would lead to them becoming best friends. She often went to eat, to the zoo, and to the movies with Jeff and his mom. Unfortunately, a year into their friendship, Jeff's mom passed away, and she was there to help him plan the funeral every step of the way. After 3 years, they realized they had feelings for each other, and took their friendship to the next level. Their friendship was one filled with adventure, building mutual relationships with friends and family, and true love and commitment. Shortly after their 4 year anniversary, they decided they would get married, and the planning phase began. They originally planned their ceremony for March 28, but then the Corona Virus reared its ugly head, and everything was canceled. After much thought, they decided to go ahead and exchange vows, and postponed the full ceremony and reception for October 10, hoping everything will be back to normal.
