Our journey began at a couple's dinner party hosted by our mutual friends, Matt and Regina Szura. Creighton and Matt had grown up together in Vacaville, and Teresa and Regina have been childhood friends. Regina, seeing how well she knew both of us, thought we’d be a perfect match and shared her thoughts with Teresa. It took a little time, but six months later, Teresa was ready to meet Creighton. That evening, Regina and Matt invited us over for dinner with the Patersons and Bustamantes. We played games, enjoyed a delicious meal, sipped on good wine, and immediately hit it off. Teresa, played hard to get for a few weeks, but soon enough, our first date at Luna Lounge felt like the stars were perfectly aligned. It wasn’t long before Teresa knew Creighton was something special and wanted him to meet her daughters, Lyla and Hannah. The girls instantly loved him, and things began to move forward, even though circumstances meant we took things slowly. We made it through COVID together, and when Creighton sold his house in 2021, he moved in with Teresa and the girls, marking a new chapter in their lives. While selling his home was bittersweet, full of precious memories (especially from the rooftop), it was time to come together as a family. Now, we’re making a new home together, with major renovations underway, and the house is slowly becoming ours. On July 31, 2024, Creighton finally popped the question in Asheville, NC—a place special to him, where he spent time during grad school and lived for nine years. What started as a planned birthday trip to Nashville turned into a beautiful surprise as Creighton proposed during a hike to Looking Glass Mountain, a spot we had hiked together with the girls two years prior. It was the perfect moment, incredibly romantic, and a beautiful way to start the next chapter of our lives. The rest, as they say, is history—and we couldn’t be more grateful to have found each other.
