2020 Tera and Kobe met sophomore year at the University of Arkansas while working as intramural officials. Between late-night games, competitive banter, and exploring Fayetteville, they discovered a shared love for sports, and cheering on the Razorbacks whether it was volleyball, gymnastics, or basketball. They tried to see it all! Just a few months later, COVID hit and sent them four hours apart for the summer. In October 2020, they reconnected — and from that moment on, they’ve been inseparable, ready for whatever adventures came next. 2021 Tera and Kobe moved into their own college apartments, just two blocks apart. It was the year of 21st birthday celebrations, late nights out, and soaking up every second of their last year of college life with their friends. In December, Kobe graduated — a huge milestone and the beginning of their next adventure together. They didn’t know exactly what the future would hold, but they knew they wanted to take on whatever came next side by side. 2022 Kobe moved to New Orleans for his first job, marking the start of their long-distance chapter. While it wasn’t easy, Tera and Kobe were incredibly lucky to see each other about once a month, cherishing weekend visits and counting down until the next trip. Tera graduated in May and soon moved home to Batesville, for her first job as a teacher, Kobe also moved to Batesville and started a new job to do life together/be together, for now. They enjoyed being close to family and friends and took trips to Kansas City and Fayetteville to see college friends. 2023 Tera and Kobe traveled to Orlando Universal Studios, visited Tera’s family in Michigan for Fourth of July, and went to two Taylor Swift concerts. Throughout the year, they continued showing up for each other in big and small ways. Tera cheered Kobe on as he worked his way through his Occupational Therapy doctorate program, and Kobe returned the support by cheering Tera on as she coached both school and club volleyball — even if that meant keeping the volleyball book or helping set up tournaments at 10 p.m. the night before. 2024 This was a year of creating even more memories — near and far — filled with road trips and the start of a new shared hobby: running. What began as something to do together quickly became another way they pushed and supported one another. Between work and school, weekends were spent soaking up time together, gathering with friends, and celebrating milestones big and small. To finish the year off, Kobe graduated with his Doctorate of Occupational Therapy — an achievement years in the making. They celebrated with a party in Batesville where both of their families came together to honor Kobe, marking the first time everyone was able to truly spend quality time all together. It was the perfect way to close out the year and step into yet another new chapter. 2025 After graduation, Kobe accepted a job in Kansas City, beginning another short long-distance period. Tera wrapped up her final school year as a teacher in Batesville then joined Kobe in May, starting life together in a new city. They traveled to Hawaii that fall, staying with Kobe’s aunt and uncle. On September 7, 2025, on Waikoloa Beach, Kobe proposed — it was the second day in Hawaii which meant they had the rest of the week to soak it all in — celebrating, calling family and friends, and enjoying their time as newly engaged. By April 30, 2027, Tera and Kobe will have shared over seven years of adventures, and they can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with you!
