Jay and Jennifer's engagement story
Anyone who knows us knows that we met on the app known today as X. It was called Twitter back then. We still refer to it as Twitter and probably always will. We don't remember who followed who first, but we did become acquainted through our love of Thursday night TV (TGIT) on ABC. Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder, anybody? Over the years, we tweeted and replied to each other with commentary on television, politics, pop culture and real life issues. Over time, it became apparent that we were pretty compatible. Tweets turned into direct messages (YES, he slid into the DMs). DMs turned into actual text messages and phone calls. From there, a wonderful friendship blossomed. As we continued to get to know one another, we decided that we should meet in person sooner rather than later. Meeting up in person for the first time was extremely nerve-wracking, but once it happened we quickly discovered that the chemistry we had online also translated to real life. We started off in a long-distance relationship (Jay was in Alabama, Jennifer was in Texas). Even with the ever-changing dynamics that we both faced as individuals (family, jobs, a few disappointments and a whole lotta wins), we remained a constant in each others' lives. From multiple daily phone calls to planned trips and mini vacays to see each other, our connection was consistent and steadfast. Now that we're no longer in a long-distance relationship (he moved to Texas ya'll) and newly engaged, we are eagerly anticipating a lifetime and legacy of love, true friendship and happiness. We are excited to to share this day with you! J&J
