Andrea's version: I had just returned from a solo trip up to Traverse City, and on Monday night stumbled upon a Facebook group for Michigan singles. I thought, this is what I need, a group of people to socialize with and attend events with that I don't want to do alone, after all Kylee is about to start her junior year of high school. I was a member of this group less than a day, when Christian makes a post “I have 2 tickets to see Blake Shelton, next weekend anyone want to join me, so I’m not a third wheel?” As you can expect there were many ladies and a few wingmen who offered to attend. I responded, this is way out of my comfort zone, but what the heck, I'd love to go. Christian messaged Andrea the next day, but didn’t mention the concert right away, I think he wanted to make sure I wasn’t too crazy. But then he asked and this was the first time she said yes! I suggested we meet up on Saturday, before committing to make the two hour trip together the following weekend. We had an amazing first date at Maiz in depot town - for the record I was early and Christian was late - and then the next week we were five rows from the stage singing with Blake Shelton!
Andrea was completely oblivious to the events that would be taking place on this day. Andrea, Christian and Kylee were on vacation in DC. On this morning Christian was up early and was enjoying coffee in the sunroom of the AirBnB. He made a bold post for all of the Facebook world to see - except for Andrea - he had a ring and was going to propose tonight. Plans were to have dinner in DC, and then visit the monuments all lit up after dark. It was late by the time dinner was over, by this time, unaware of what was to take place Christian was fielding all sorts of messages wondering what happened. It was nearly 10pm when we got to the Washington Monument, then the WWII Memorial, and finally the Lincoln Memorial, by this time everyone was hot and tired. Now in the home stretch we stopped to take some (more) pictures in front of the reflecting pond. Christian asked Kylee if she would take one of the two of us *this is when Andrea realized… what was about to take place, and even stranger was she had this exact dream a month prior, but she didn’t tell Christian… Christian pulled out the box that he had carried all day with him, opened it up which activated the little led lights inside and made the ring extra sparkly and asked Andrea, so will you marry me? Andrea was shocked by the sparkle, and of course said yes!! Kylee interjects and reminds Christian “you forgot to get on one knee,” and Christian who clearly forgot all the steps he had planned out, gets down on one knee and asks once again, and Andrea said YES again! After, Christian handed Andrea his phone and showed her the post from the morning, and how everyone was congratulating him but also waiting for the results, by now it was 11pm! That night we shared with our parents, and close friends, so they could finally go to bed - and luckily everyone kept the secret of the day and never ruined the surprise. *Even the security guard at Arlington kept it quiet after the ring set off the metal detector!
