Christina had moved to New York City in June 2019 to begin her pediatric residency at Cornell. After a series of unfortunate dates in a new city she had all but given up hope. She went on a terrible speed dating event 2 weeks before she begrudgingly opened up her dating apps again. In her inbox was a message from Justin. Christina took some time to respond to him, but eventually she decided to see what this guy from South Florida was all about. They met at a local bar called the Spotted Dog on January 20, 2020. They hit it off right away over drinks and made plans for a second date before ending the first! From then on, they spent the next 6 weeks in a seemingly normal dating scene before the world shut down in March 2020. That's when things really picked up. They went from fancy date nights to sweatpants and take out. Justin even moved in with Christina and her family for two weeks when the city was on lockdown- they got real cozy! They had family game night and baked more than they could eat all while wearing their best pajamas! The pandemic certainly put speed on their relationship but they were so grateful to have each other during that crazy time. There was no one else they could imagine on their quaran-team so they had to make it official. Almost two years later, Justin popped the question with the help of a local Central Park caricaturist and Christina, of course, said yes (through many tears)!
