So many things I could go on about….whether it’s from hanging out in my room teaching me a tik tok dance, showing me the outfits she bought, bursting out in song all over the house, or just all around being in my space….I can say, you are actually an annoying little sister lol...but that’s what little sisters are supposed to be, right? Regardless, I would not trade you for anyone else. You are caring, smart, articulate, cheerful and hilarious. It amazes me how you can just come up with ideas and things to say on the spot. It is nice to have someone around that is not serious all the time and can bring joy into whatever room she walks into, and you do a great job of executing ideas when you set your mind to it. You have been doing a great job as my maid of honor, and I love you!
Tolu "T-Baba" Ayegbusi

“The Best-Man” Mehnnnn where do I start. Tolu and I met in church and instantly became brothers. We disagreed on almost everything (except for our love for God). We mainly argued about football, but unlike my other grooms men, we never seemed to come to an agreement. He never fails to remind of how angry he was when I disagreed with him on who is better between Torres and Higuain (inside football joke). Tolu encompasses hard work, grit, intellect, extreme maturity and talent. He is absolutely the best keyboardist/musician I have ever encountered. I call him my number 1 go to person because he is extremely dependent and never fails to say things as they are. I am so happy to have you celebrate my day with me, and I can’t wait to be part of yours.

“Mama Manda” Amanda and I grew close the year we both took a winter class in Salisbury and we have been best friends ever since. Amanda has such a pure heart and is a light in whatever room she walks into. She is always cooking like a mother with 5 kids, hence the name, but she can throw down! She is always ready to go on an adventure. She is the one I can trust to take a trip across the country with me with just a 2 hours’ notice.
Kunle "Kunzoski" Ayegbusi

“DC’s Finest” I met Kunle years ago through another friend. He being a fellow Chelsea fan made us connect, but asides from that, he was also part of my partying crew in undergrad. He is called DC’s finest cos he owns every place he stepped into (and we mostly partied in DC). Kunle is married to a wonderful woman and is the father of my adopted daughter (paper work to come soon lol). Side note; they had one of the best wedding party I have ever attended. Can’t wait to have you at mine bro.

I first met Amarachi back in Salisbury, but we did not become close friends until we found ourselves enrolled in the same PTA program 3 years later, who would have thought?! Aaahh… so many good memories of late-night studying, working out, and inside jokes. Amarachi is a caring and dedicated person. When she sets her mind on something she pushes through till the end. She is the kind of person that you do not want to make promises to because she will hold you to it because on her part, she will always do what she said she will do because she is someone you can trust.

“The Doctor” Wande is my oldest friend in the group and I can write a book about our history. We met in February 2006 at MET Lagos, Nigeria where we prepared for our SATs. Wande and I became super cool real quick, we bonded over love for football, academics and at some point we even liked the same girl (story for the book lol). Wande and I lived together for 4 years and I always tell the story of how empty the apartment was when we moved in. We started buying one thing after the other until it became a full bachelor pad. I am honored to be the one God used to connect him to his wonderful wife and I can’t wait to meet my god baby. Wande is super meticulous, loves his work and video games. He is the best fifa player I know, a few of the other groomsmen can testify.

The OG make-up artist…doing make-up for people since 1995 lol. Debbie is probably the sweetest person I know. She is not one to try to get back at someone for something they deserve neither is she one to try to intentionally hurt your feelings. One thing I love about Debbie is that she has such a forgiving heart and she is a kind and gentle individual. She is not one to start the fire, but she will do everything she can to ensure that it is contained.

“WhatsApp Partner” Emeka and I belong to nothing less than 5 whatsapp groups. We have never added each other to any, we just always find ourselves in there. Groups related to sports, memes, relationships, lifestyle etc. I sometimes think he is tracking me lol. Emeka is probably one of the most interactive individuals I have ever met. Always has an opinion for every topic and knows how to intelligently drive home a point. He is also one of the smartest young men I have met and I can’t wait to see him conquer the world with a beautiful woman I plan to hook him up with at my wedding. Yes, he is single 😏

My naija babe, the one that does not let small things bother her. The one that you can send to Nollywood and she would probably succeed. For about a year or so, I had only heard of Diana, but never met her and I do not regret the day I finally met her. Diana is hardworking, easy-going, talented in her hair braiding skills, and she is a joy to be around. In our years of friendship, I do not think I have ever seen her truly mad or upset at anyone, so I know the day I see that, someone must have done something bad to upset her. To know Diana, is to love Diana.

“My blue brother” Bola & I met through my sis years ago (I honesty can’t recall exactly when), probably around 2008 when I first arrived in the states. We became really good friends over time and bonded over our love for the best football (soccer) team in the world; ChelseaFC and our beef with the worst; ArsenalFC lol. He is one of the calmest people I have ever met and is always ready to tackle issues from a logical point. I was honored to be one of his groomsmen a few years ago, and I am greatly honored to have him as one of mine.

“That’s my roommate!” Something we will continue to say to each other until we get tired lol. I came to know Melody in college, and we were roommates for basically three years of our college life. I can also call her the fashionista of the group because you will never catch her slipping. She is ALWAYS dressed to impress. Melody is a real one. She is not afraid to let you know how it is. She is the kind of person that is always there to help when you call. Even if she cannot directly help, she will go out of her way to make sure she can find someone who can.

“The Specialist” Turns out I met a few of my good friends through my sis cos that’s also Afurhe’s story. I believe we first bonded when he and 2 other friends got stuck with my sis and I during the snow storm of 2009. All 5 of us did was eat, shower, chat, sleep and played taboo for a whole week. After that week, he and I became really close and grew from there. I call him the specialist because he really puts in work on his craft, always seeking to do better. He will bring a hint of perfection to the group.

Fisayo, the level-headed one. I remember the first day I met Fisayo in church. I was happy to have a new friend. 10+ years later, here we are. Fisayo is the kind of person that makes you think about your life even if you do not want to. You can never have a boring conversation when talking with her. She is the one that brings normalcy back to the group if we are acting or talking crazy. But do not be fooled. She has her crazy side too. If it is not randomly dancing, it’s bursting out at a karaoke session to “The Greatest Showman”.

“Swag King” If you ever wanna describe hustler/hard worker, that is Dapo. I have never seen someone make moves like Dapo does. Always doing something new in career and creating things to be better. The great thing about Dapo is how fast he can switch it up, just as hard he works, he also knows how to party. Dapo has been one of my closest friends for a very long time. He is debatably (I use that word so others don’t fight me lol) the best dresser in the group, but no joke, he does know how to clean up. Dapo has unknowingly inspired me over the years through his zeal and hard-work and I can’t wait to see the great years God has ahead for him.
