Julia's parents, Karen and Steve, are from Dearborn, MI just outside of Detroit and her grandmother, Sylvia, still resides there. Since both Julia and Daniel's families reside across six states, they decided to gather in a centralized location that would be convenient and sentimental. Additionally, the James Scott Memorial Fountain on Belle Isle is gorgeous with the Detroit skyline as a backdrop for the ceremony.
May the 4th (Force) be with you! Both Daniel and Julia's families share a love of Star Wars, but the date was chosen because it is the weekend before Julia's grandmother Sylvia's 90th birthday and Daniel's father Mark's 74th birthday.
Daniel and Julia hosted a small dinner party with their families immediately following the ceremony to celebrate their union and family birthdays. The bride and groom will also host a small gathering of their closest friends at a rented vacation home in the mountains of Woodland Park, Colorado in October 2024 for a belated wedding celebration.
