Village People, 2020 seemed like a great year to get married! We were vying for a wedding on October 10, 2020, thinking the date symbolic of our union…in a mathematical equation way (1 + 1 = 2, get it? It seemed less nerdy before trying to explain). Anyways, when that date wasn’t available at our venue we were a little disappointed but we quickly adjusted and took the October 11th date. Previously in the wedding planning process we reacted similarly when our 1st-choice venue wasn’t available at all in 2020. No problemo! As you may imagine, we’ve been pretty laid back while planning our wedding (perhaps a bit too laid back depending who you ask!). For us, the details aren’t as important as the union itself and, of course, having a fantastic celebration with the people closest to us…you are truly our Village. Our priorities are clear and all was on-track for an epic event! Now just a few months after sending our ‘Save the Date,’ the world has changed. And our seemingly easy wants and needs for our wedding have become a lot more complicated. [Yes, this is testing the limitations of being “pretty laid back.”] All this to say that, sadly, we have decided to cancel our October 11, 2020 event. While we are both “glass half full” people we had to be realistic about the current environment and uncertainty for the near future, especially around travel and group gatherings. The most important thing to us now is the health and safety of all of you, our Village People. We would never, EVER want to put anyone’s health in jeopardy or in a position of needing to weigh health risks in order to attend our wedding. We hope you understand. [One day, during our fantastic wedding celebration I guess we have to play “YMCA” now.] We feel so fortunate to have found each other and be together during this difficult time (writing this 50+ days into lockdown bodes well for our marriage!). Please stay safe & healthy and continue to stay in touch. We love and miss you all! Teha & Steve
