A Wedding More than 10 Years in the Making!

Scott and Brianna first met in college at Sam Houston State University in the fall of 2010 at a party at a friend’s apartment. There was a definite connection right off the bat, but it wouldn’t be until about a month later at a different party that Scott would ask for Brianna’s number. She gave it to him, and then they hung out every day for the next four days before Brianna not so subtly hinted that Scott should ask her out. Once he finally did and she said yes, she promptly updated her Facebook status. They continued to date for the next three years before ending things in the fall of 2013. Brianna graduated in May of 2014 with her Bachelors of Music and began teaching band in Waco ISD that fall. Scott graduated in December of the same year and began working at Citizens State Bank in his hometown of Ganado. They both continued with their lives, dated other people, and grew up a little bit too. When they both found themselves single again, they reconnected and found that they both still had feelings for each other. Their relationship began anew in spring of 2017. In the spirit of taking things slow and getting to know each other again, they moved in together in July of 2017! Brianna began teaching in Sweeny ISD, and the two have been together ever since.

The Proposal

December 18th, 2021

Brianna told Scott she would say yes whenever he decided to ask her to marry him. Scott bought her a beautiful ring and at Brianna’s Brazosport Symphony Orchestra concert, he got down on one knee, and popped the question. Brianna’s response? “It’s about damn time!”
