Independence Hall
Steps from the hotel block! Guided tours require a timed ticket, which can be booked online and cost $1. Tours are roughly 20 minutes long and stay on the first floor. You can also check out the Liberty Bell and President's House, which are both part of Independence National Park. Ben Franklin's final resting place at Christ Church Burial Ground and the Constitution Center are within walking distance too.
Reading Terminal Market
One of America's largest and oldest public markets - you could truly spend hours here! There are a few different cheesesteak spots, but some additional recommendations from us: Bassets Ice Cream (one of the original tenants from when the market first opened in 1892), Pennsylvania Libations (supporting and selling PA-made wine, spirits, mead, and more), and Down Home Diner (we’ve made a little tradition of having breakfast here after Sam runs a race!).
