FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Help us get the party started as scheduled! We recommend that you arrive at minimum 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony to make sure everyone is seated on time.

Question

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of parking on site!

Question

Will the event be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors. Dinner will take place inside the Boathouse. While dancing and the rest of the reception will be outside under an enclosed tent with heaters.

Question

Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel(s)?

Answer

Unfortunately the hotels do not offer shuttle service. The venue is located just 8.6 miles (12 minutes) from either hotel. Uber is great option to get back and forth. You can arrange your uber ride in advance which I strongly recommend.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal attire. Think cocktail dresses, men wearing a suit and tie.

Question

Can I stay at the Valcour Inn?

Answer

Unfortunately, the Valcour Inn only has 9 rooms available which are reserved for the wedding party.

Question

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes! There is a road heading down from the parking lot straight to the Boathouse of which you can be wheeled or driven down by vehicle right near the boat house entrance

Question

Have you reserved hotel room blocks?

Answer

Yes! Please see our travel tab to locate the link to book your hotel room at the Fairfield Inn in Plattsburgh. If you do not see a specific room available that you’re looking for, please let us know. We may be able to add on additional rooms depending on how close it is to the wedding.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

This time of October tends to be about 50-60’s. Though being on the lake it may feel a bit chillier. We recommend bringing a jacket or layers just in case!

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.
