Our story started at a place neither of us expected, an axe throwing bar called Casting Iron. Avery was already working there as a server before Riley got hired as a lane coach. We met when Avery was 17 and Riley was 18. What makes it even funnier is that Avery already knew Riley’s parents long before she met him, since they were regulars at the bar. So in a strange way, Riley was already connected to her life before we ever officially met. When Riley finally came around, Avery remembers being instantly nervous meeting him, he had this natural charm that was impossible to ignore. For the longest time, everyone at Casting Iron including Avery mispronounced his last name as “Ted-es-she,” and it wasn’t until Riley finally corrected us that we learned it’s actually “Ted-es-ski.” So if you’ve been wondering how to say it… now you know! We worked together for a while before anything romantic started, but there was always something there. Riley had this habit of pretending to trip Avery as she walked by carrying trays of dirty dishes...his way of getting her attention, I guess. We both thought the other was cute, and eventually, what everyone around us already seemed to know became reality. When we finally started dating, no one was surprised, our coworkers had been rooting for us all along. From that point on, we’ve been inseparable, growing together and building a love that started in the most unexpected place but has become the most important part of our lives. What started as working side by side at Casting Iron has turned into a love that’s grown with us through every season of life and we can't wait to see where this life takes us!
