Matron of Honor
I met Mel at the bachelorette party for Taylor in 2018. I was very nervous meeting everyone, wanting to make a good first impression. I wasn't sure how to act. And then. Mel wore white shorts when we were going to be riding roller coasters. I suddenly found my purpose for the trip. I was Mom. Mel helped me get my bearings as I handed Mel my second extra spare shorts, calming my anxiety in knowing that I could take care of all these beautiful drunken ladies. After that weekend, I took a chance and invited them all to my and Zach's anniversary party. From then on, we were like family. I am blessed to have her stand with us while Zach and I step further in their journey.
Matron of Honor
The moment I met Taylor was when we moved in together on campus my junior year of college in 2015. Living with four other girls (six in total) sounded like a future case of murder-suicide. But it was through this that I met one of my best friends. We didn't know each other long but Taylor still decided to take me out for my 21st birthday and proceeded to drink both my and her drinks, saving me from a poorly mixed-alcohol nightmare of a cocktail. She is one of the very few people to have been bestowed the honor of seeing me drunk. She's seen me at my worst, my depressed, my anxious, my distraught; she's seen me at my best, my excitable, my sarcastic. I was honored to stand by this dork's side at her wedding and I am honored to have Taylor stand by mine.
Best Man
Kyler and I grew up together like siblings. Kyler was often the more active individual and would encourage me to join in activities such as rock climbing club or disc golfing. He has always been the stable and reliable friend, always holds his friendships as a priority even as adult life makes keeping in touch a challenge. Kyler was always the bold one, pushing others do what they think is right and stand up for the life you want to lead. He has a good moral compass that helps direct him but never lets it get in the way of wild times. In high school, the first time we drank we had an entire bottle of UV Blue. We had fun but the next day, we were incredibly sick, fighting over who got to vom in the toilet. I can't smell UV Blue anymore without cringing, but it's still a great memory.
Best Man
Dan grew up as a permanent addition to the family, having met when we were children. Our days were spent either playing video games or playing pretend in the neighborhood with sticks carved into great swords and magic wands. Dan was always bigger and he got yelled at for roughhousing with me. But what they didn't know was most of the time I initiated the attacks. One vivid memory was a sleepover at Dan's house. We stayed up late in the basement playing video games and when it was time for bed I wasn't tired so instead I rolled up in my sleeping bag and yelled "Caterpillar Attack!" jumping on Dan. It didn't end well for me. But winning wasn't the point, having fun was. The adult life has been a challenge. But even with rough patches and struggles, Dan and I are always there for each other
Bridesmaid
I met Katie at the same time I met Mel in 2018. We didn't bond as fast as Mel and I but our friendship is no less near and dear to my heart. As time passed, Katie and I got to know each other more and more and every new thing I learned, I loved. When I am stressed and need distracting from the dumb things in life, we go explore restaurants, get talking about anything and everything. Katie gets me thinking critically, in a way I haven't in years. She's beautiful inside and out. She makes me want to be the best version of herself, to put my best foot forward and tell the world; Here I Am.
Groomsman
Trevor has been my brother ever since he was born, weird how that works right? I always used to call Trevor "Mini Me" because we always had the same interest growing up. Even now as adults, we still keep in touch over weekly gaming sessions. While we may yell and swear at each other over it, we do get along very well. Even though Trevor lives across the country we still talk about life, business, fun, and the future as if the distance made no difference to who we are to each other. This little brother started out as a sweet kid and grew into a tough and hard working cookie. I couldn't be prouder to have him at my side.
Bridesmaid
My beautiful sister. Growing up we weren't particularly close, but as we grew, we started to understand each other. We grew as individuals, learning about ourselves, the world, and where we were in it. It's only been a few years since we started getting closer but even when we fought, I couldn't imagine life without my sister. Whether we're dissecting movies, rocking out at concerts, or being sarcastic little shits, I can't wait to have my sister standing by my side as I venture forth into this next chapter of my life.
Groomsman
Amy met Jordan her freshman year but she didn't realize it until a year later. They shared a class together where Jordan sat right in front of her and neither realized. Zach and Jordan were supposed to be roommates when Jordan found out he couldn't live on campus that year. Later, they officially met when they had class together. Jordan was there for our first date. He was there at the beginning, and has been at every anniversary party since, never missing the opportunity to party with us. Even if we aren't able to see him, he always makes it to the celebrations. He was there for the start of our journey. It only seemed right he be there to bring us through to the next chapter.
