We met at Reality SF on Faith's first Sunday as the church's intern. Teddy had been attending the church for about a year and was serving as a volunteer team lead when Faith was assigned to help. We got a little distracted and ended up having a conversation in front of the church when we were supposed to be greeting people as they came in! Although immediately smitten with each other, it took a summer of passing conversations, awkward "front door greeter" interactions, and missed texts to finally go on our first date on September 30th in Santa Barbara... the rest is history!

We discussed engagement and looked at rings earlier in the summer, but the jeweler told us not to get our hopes up before Faith was set to leave in August for grad school. When Teddy got word that the ring was ready a week before Faith's final day in San Francisco, he knew the timing was right and needed to act fast. To conclude our longest stint of being together in-person after 10 months of long distance dating, we ended our summer of home cooked meals, hiking adventures, and far too much driving, by going on a hike in San Bruno State Park that we were supposed to go on the previous summer. We scrambled up to a spot that usually has a beautiful view of the San Francisco skyline (it was foggy this time...), and Teddy pulled out the ring. Much to Faith's surprise, Teddy had gotten the ring, flew to Colorado to talk to her father, consulted her best friends on proposal tips, gotten their nails done (yes, he rocked a manicure), and pulled off the most wonderful proposal of all time in just a week's time. Easiest yes ever.

With Faith and Teddy having attended university in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo respectively, the California Central Coast is a very special place to us and the home of many of our closest friends. Although neither of us currently reside in the area, we knew it was the best place to start our marriage. The rest of this story hasn't quite been written yet...
