Flashback to move-in day at Syracuse University. In a dingy basement frat party, Erica was chatting away when she heard her Big Sister Mikaela say "Oh, have you met my little? Hey, Erica!" She turned around to see Mikaela talking to the cute guy she spotted at the party earlier, but told no one about. Mikaela introduced Erica to Teddy, and they spent the rest of the night talking and dancing until it was time to go home. Teddy made it pretty clear that he was interested in Erica right from the beginning. He waited only hours after exchanging phone numbers to text her and make plans with her again. But the biggest tell was the next evening, when he left a frat party full of eligible women to hang out with Erica in her dorm. As they spent the night talking and exchanging stories, Erica felt like she knew him her entire life. We hate to use the cliche that the rest was history, but it's true. We've been together ever since.

Erica thought they were just going on a Tuesday date night. They had planned this evening weeks ago because of Teddy's crazy work schedule. But then the night before the date, Teddy was repeatedly confirming details with her like when she'd be home from work and what she planned to wear. "Why are you putting such an effort into this date?" Erica asked "Because a few weeks ago you said that I don't date you anymore and that made me really sad. I just want us to have a nice evening together." Teddy answered. Erica didn't really think anything of it after that, except when she was lying in bed a few hours later. All of a sudden, the possibility flashed in her mind: "what if he's planning to propose?!" She immediately talked herself out of it though, because who would propose on a Tuesday when they had to go to work the next morning. Turns out, Teddy would. Their date was at Eveningside Winery up in Lockport, NY. After taking a private tour of the winery and a private tasting, Teddy led her out to the back of the tasting house to overlook the entire vineyard. He started talking about their future together, and shaking like a leaf he got down on one knee and asked her to marrry him. She immediately said yes, and happily didn't black out during the actual proposal (WIN!).
