We first met through our co-ed fraternity at JMU. Teddy joined freshman year, and Jessie joined a year later. Teddy was very involved in Jessie's interview process. That is our first memory of interacting with each other. We traveled together a few times with our friend group, and discovered a shared interest in running. We started going for runs together, and realized how much we enjoyed each other's company. We started texting and facetiming daily when we weren't together in Harrisonburg with friends. After a few weeks, Teddy asked Jessie to go on a picnic date at Lake Shenandoah on May 29th, 2020. We had so much fun on our first date that we decided to have a "date week" where we went on one date each day for an entire week. Each day was so much fun and we grew closer and closer, so at the end of the week we decided to "officially" date! The next five years were full of adventure, growth, and lots of Alfie snuggles! On May 31st, 2025, during our 5 year anniversary trip back to JMU, Teddy asked Jessie to marry him during a picnic at Lake Shenandoah (to recreate our first date). The answer was an incredibly easy "OBVIOUSLY!" and then we got to spend the rest of the weekend celebrating with family and friends. We are so excited to spend a fun evening celebrating with all of our favorite people!
