Kristin and Ted met more than ten years ago in a college production of Pride and Prejudice. (Kristin played Caroline Bingley, Ted Mr. Darcy.) Ted thought Kristin was cute. Kristin worried Ted was a bit of a square. Years later, they reconnected when Ted was seeking an editor for his science fiction stories. Kristin took time out of her busy life as a grad student to read and give essential feedback on Ted's work and discovered, to her surprise, that he was a good writer. During the summer of 2020, Ted and Kristin became close, playing online games together in quarantine and taking a camping trip to Sequoia and Yosemite. Soon after that, Kristin became based in upstate New York, and Ted frequently invited her down to the city. After a fateful showing of The Green Knight and a camping trip to Acadia National Park, Ted worked up the nerve to put this friendship to the test as a romantic relationship, and Kristin agreed to give it a shot. Prior to their engagement, Kristin spent a year in residence at the beautiful rectory of Grace Church as assistant director to an interfaith youth fellowship, and Ted spent a great deal of time there in Millbrook over a long, cozy winter. She worked at a local library, managing community events, while he took up odd jobs in the valley and worked on numerous creative projects. She walked home for lunch, and they read and knitted by a crackling fireplace in the evenings. It was as idyllic and intimate a love story as they could possibly have imagined. Kristin and Ted are now based in NYC, where Kristin is pursuing her doctorate at Columbia University, but they've chosen to celebrate their marriage at Grace Church in honor of this important and beautiful season, during which they cultivated the relationship they now solemnize. No relationship exists in a vacuum, and you’ve been a part of this story, too, in one way or another. We’re overjoyed to be celebrating with you on June 1st.
