Don Carter is Georgia’s newest state park, as well as the first state park on 38,000 acre Lake Lanier. Situated on the north end of the reservoir, the park offers outstanding recreation for water lovers. It will take you about 20-25 minutes to get to and from the venue (17 miles). There are 8 Cottages at the park that are all two-bedrooms and sleep up to 8 people!

There are some gorgeous homes on AirBnB in and around the Gainesville area. Think you might want to make a vacation out of your weekend and stay somewhere like Atlanta or Athens? No problem! Other places worth visiting include Dahlonega (30 minutes) and Blue Ridge (an hour and a half)!
