We're getting married!

Christy and Phil both attended the same middle and high school. Though they had separate groups of friends they always crossed paths and both went to each others house parties *sorry to their parents*. They both even worked together at a local pizza place for a year. It wasn't until Christy's last semester at Iona in 2014 where the sparks went off at good ol' Pourhouse in Nyack (LOL). Phil attended Christy's Iona College senior year formal & many of the other hundreds of events Christy attends, including her best friend Jenny's annual Hamptons gathering a couple months later. Phil asked Christy to be his girlfriend and the rest was history. Team Schiffley started when Christy, Phil and their brothers, Chris, Sean and Kurt, played in a Beer Olympics in 2015 and (of course) won.

Phil FINALLY popped the question after 6 years of dating, in 2020 when the world was still shut down. They were still living at home and unable to go many places being that it was a pandemic. They had planned to bring some pizza on the roof that night and watch the sunset together since that was really the only place they could go and be somewhat alone - but Phil had bigger plans. Christy was CLUELESS he was planning to propose since Phil's family was being "so normal." He decorated a pergola on the roof with flowers and lights, got Ella's take-out (Christy's favorite), had Sean as their "waiter" for the night, while The Flamingo's played in the background. Little did she know, there were cameras set up from all angles and his siblings hiding in the bushes and windows ready to record the full proposal. She was speechless when Sean brought up a laptop to the roof rather than her chicken parm, with her all time favorite football player, Brett Favre, on screen to kick off the proposal. She said YES of course and they left for Lake George to celebrate two days later - which was already planned for their 6 year anniversary. They are so happy to final tie the knot and celebrate with their friends & family!
