We met on Tinder (lol I know right) he had a fun energy about him, a sweet smile, and he also worked in a family run Mexican food truck! I tried to play hard to get, so I very slowly messaged him back, just enough to keep him on the hook ;) once I waited five days to text him, I was scolded for that and when I messaged him he said he was going to Bend and he'd talk to me in three days...I thought "Oh crap, mom's gonna be mad...I lost taco-truck guy." but to my surprise on the third day he did text me and we set up our first actual date!!
We met up at a restaurant and when I arrived at the scheduled time I thought I was late because he seemed like he had been there awhile, he assured me I wasn't late but in fact he arrived 40 minutes early to save a table. As I sat down we came to realize we were wearing the exact same outfit, all the way down to our shoes!! Talking to each other was the easiest thing in the world, we jumped from topic to topic and story to story till the restaurant closed...6 hours later! He walked me to my car at the end of the night and I said that I had fun and we should do it again, he was taken by surprise (as if 6 hours wasn't clear enough) and remarked "really? you will?", and we haven't stopped talking since.
It was Mother's Day and both of our families were getting together to celebrate! There was lots of good food, music, company, and conversation. Omar's sister called all the families up one at a time for photos, then she called up all the couples! Omar and I were last and as we cycled through our different poses Omar steps back and says "I have a good pose idea!" and reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a little brown wooden box and dropped down to one knee! I was so surprised I didn't know what to say, but before he could even say "would you marry me?" I reached out and grabbed his face and said "yes!!" The rest of the night was filled with smiles and laughter and the beginning of the wedding preparations!
