In 2015 Mel and I were led to a place called the Dream Center in downtown Los Angeles. We came from opposite sides of the country, her being from Washington and I coming from Alabama. We were in different programs at the Dream Center and weren't aloud to speak to one another, so we would just give each other a smirk and never said a word. But every time we would see each other on campus I would get this feeling inside of me that I had never felt before. It was more than just physical attraction, she got my attention in my spirit. I remember pointing her out to my roommates telling them about her. Meanwhile not even knowing that she was pointing me out to her friends around campus saying that she was going to marry me someday. After I had graduated from the Dream Center and was in the process of becoming a SoCal local, on December 31st 2016 Mel slid into my DM's and said "So you're probably the most attractive person I've ever seen". But things really didn't take off from there. It wasn't until after we had both settled in as locals (randomly working 10 minutes from each other) that I messaged her on February 27th 2018 wanting to finally find out what that feeling that I would always get in my spirit about her was really about. I asked her to coffee, and we finally met face to face and spoke to one another for the first time. We got to know each other a bit and ended up going from the coffee shop to a small group from her church that night. I started attending the church (Wave Church Los Angeles) and we began dating and became official April 2018. Ever since then we have seen God show up in our lives in ways that we had never experienced. Through thick and thin we have became each others best friend and everyday we experience a love that we thought only existed in fairytales. Jesus has done more in our relationship than we could ever put into words. -Destin
