Tara and Teagan met at the climbing gym in Provo, UT. Teagan noticed Tara working on a boulder problem he had previously worked on. In a moment of passion and hoping to win her over, he asked if he could work on it with her, acting as though he had never seen this boulder problem in his life. After impressing her thoroughly, the conversation began. Tara's genuine curiosity and love of people won him over, and Teagan knew he needed to get her number. Asking her to climb outside, this began the relationship you know and love today. (In case you're concerned, Teagan did eventually come clean about his lie, and has been honest ever since)
A special location for Tara and Teagan is a spot called Turnout No. 4, a small pull-off in a local canyon near American Fork, Utah. They went for a drive one summer evening and ended up pulling off of the road to talk, stopping in an area next to a small waterfall and stream. After a little while Tara started to fall asleep (as she almost always does) and as she drifted off she heard Teagan ask if she was awake. She didn't respond and after a minute he quietly whispered, "I think I'm falling in love with you". Tara was instantly wide awake, but instead of responding (like a mature adult) she pretended to be asleep until Teagan gently "woke her up" a little while later to drive home. Later that night Teagan again told her how he was feeling, and Tara mustered up the bravery to tell him that she felt the same. Over two years later Teagan proposed to Tara in that same spot, solidifying Turn Out No. 4 as an important place in their shared history; a place that they one day plan to show to their children.
