*** WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOOKING ACCOMMODATION ASAP*** We are getting married on a long weekend and the Coromandel Peninsula is a primo destination during summer. Whangamata/Onemana, the area we're getting married in, is a two hour drive from Auckland Airport, or a one hour and thirty minute drive from Tauranga Airport. We have booked transport to and from both Whanagamata and Onemana to the wedding venue on the day of the wedding so you can truly experience Kiwi drinking culture (if you want to, no pressure!). Below are some Airbnb and Bookabach links to some areas close to our venue. If you're coming from out of country, the Coromandel is a beautiful little area to explore with plenty of beaches, hikes and natural attractions as well as an oyster company that's currently for sale up the west coast of the peninsula.

Accommodation in Whangamatā, which is a breezy 10 minute drive from the venue. Voted best beach in New Zealand by NZ Herald readers in 2018, it's named after the obsidian that washes up on the shores.

Accommodation in Onemana, "a 1970s beach village on the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula of New Zealand, with a beach, a surf club, fire station and dairy." What makes it a 1970s beach village? Wouldn't you like to know.

If you're flying from the USA, Auckland will be the cheapest/closest large intl. airport.

Auckland is only a 2 hour drive away. We assume you're going off on some grand adventure when you arrive but if you would like to carpool to the venue, please let us know so we can link you up with others who are driving to Whangamata/Onemana.
