How We Met

Forever and ever ago

Tommy and I have known each other for years and years through mutual friends. For years, we would see each other out places, dance here and there, keep in touch via social media and live our separate lives. What I did not know is that Tommy wanted to ask me out on a date back when I was previously single. Due to the planets not aligning, or 1 plus 1 not equaling 2, Tommy and I just always remained friends and only kept in touch; or if we happened to run into each other somewhere we would say HI. Fast forward to 2022, after he and I both definitely went through some of life's "trials and tribulations," we reconnected as friends and started hanging out doing stuff together. Tommy really helped bring me back out of my shell. I had been on complete lock down due to illness during COVID and it was a challenge to get back in the swing of life. We started going out dancing, trying new restaurants, seeing movies, going places - and just as friends. Well, I thought we were just friends, but Tommy still had feelings for me. Tommy was always the gentleman, he never pushed me; never tried to act like we were a couple or dating or anything, he was just very supportive and a great friend. He had always been a great friend, a wonderful man. After some time, everyone around us could see it - I was in denial....no, he's not my boyfriend! We are just friends! Well, finally after about 6 months, I finally kissed him. The rest is history.

The Proposal

04/30/23

For quite some time, we both had wanted to take a glass blowing class. Tommy had purchased this for me for Valentine's Day and finally on the 30th of April, it was our time to take the class. I was so excited! We started out by having a quick breakfast at Snooze downtown then headed to Ghost Pepper Glass for our individual glass blowing class. Tommy made me a heart shaped ring holder and as it went to the oven to cure, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. (And I thought *I* was the planner in the relationship! ;) ) It was a very emotional, memorable day that I will never forget.
