Planes: Charlottesville has its own airport, Charlottesville–Albemarle Airport, but guests can also fly into Richmond International Airport, about an hour drive away. Trains: The Amtrak runs from Washington, D.C. to Charlottesville, taking about 2.5 hours. Automobiles: Of course, guests can always drive.
We have room blocks at the Draftsman, the Doyle, Residence Inn Downtown, and the Fairfield Inn. No events will be held at these locations. Please feel free to book lodging elsewhere. We recommend booking accommodations ASAP, as rooms in Charlottesville quickly fill up and prices increase.
Formal attire. We suggest suits, midi or knee-length dresses, or a nice pantsuit. Please, no white or cream. The reception will be indoors and the ceremony will be outdoors on grass.
Yes! We've planned to have busses stop by the hotels with room blocks (excluding Fairfield Inn) to bring folks to the ceremony. Busses will return guests to those hotels after the reception. King Family offers parking, so guests are also welcome to drive. Guests may leave their vehicles overnight and pick them up the next morning by 10:00 am. Guests shouldn't plan to Uber home from the reception. Ride-share apps and taxis can be unreliable in Charlottesville and Crozet.
As much as we would like to celebrate with all of our family and friends' children, we can only accomodate the children of our wedding party. We hope that you understand and will still be able to join us on our special day.
The University of Virginia Cavaliers' football team is scheduled to play the Washington State Cougars on September 26th. Many fans from out of town will attend the game. Accordingly, we encourage you to make hotel accommodations promptly.
