We first met back in 2018 during a police auxiliary shift. We had one brief interaction, just enough to remember each other, but not enough to know what was coming. Life took us in different directions. Velid moved away for work, and years passed without us crossing paths again. In 2022, thanks to Instagram and a mutual appreciation for Velid’s Spotify wrapped and the boxing place we both attended, we reconnected. Who made the first move? Velid very confidently tells people Tazeen did. Tazeen would like the record to show that it was, in fact, Velid. We’ve agreed to disagree, but either way, someone clearly made the right move (it was probably Tazeen hahaha). Not long after, Velid transferred back home for work. Somewhere between ice cream dates (with Tazeen somehow melting hers everywhere every single time), endless amount of silly laughs, meeting each other’s families, and conversations that never seemed to end… we fell in love. We’ve had the pleasure to go through lots of amazing changes that we’ve supported each other through while falling more and more in love. Tazeen also started her dream career, we got engaged in 2024, had our Nikah ceremony and bought a home together in 2025 woo! Now in May 2026, we can’t wait to celebrate our wedding surrounded by the people we love most.
