Our love story is something straight out of a romantic comedy LOL!. I was supposed to go out with another guy the night I met Jason, but I was stood-up. Somehow Jason and I both ended up at Thursdays night reggae gold at Subterranean. I walked into the club and Jason saw me right away but I didn't see him. I got a drink somehow I found myself dancing with my back turn to him, he tapped me on the shoulder and ask me to dance. I said yes. We started dancing and was I a bit stiff, so he encouraged me to let go. I let go and we danced all night. At the end of the night I was tempted to kiss him but, I gave him an Eskimo kiss instead. I left to powder my nose, expecting he would be there waiting for me when I came back. I came back he was GONE and we hadn't exchanged numbers yet! I took to long and he had to leave. I couldn't believe it! I was so lucky my friend Jodie was with me. Jodie had danced with one of his other friends who was still there. I gave his friend my number and he saw Jason a week later gave it to him. After that Jason called me and asked me out on our first date and here we are 7 years later!

In 2014 I was dealing with a lot of emotional stress from a bad relationship and a toxic job. I was at the point where I left the toxic relationship and was contemplating leaving my job, and found myself in a dark place. My dad noticed I wasn’t happy and he told me to get back to what makes me happy. What always makes me happy is reggae dancing’s, so I went to my favorite spot Sub-T reggae gold Thursday nights. While dancing by myself I saw this gorgeous woman walk-in and I said to myself I would love to dance with her. Moments later Tayonon was standing right in-front of me as of the universe was telling me to take my shot. After debating with myself for two seconds I took my chance, and I was so glad I did because she said yes, and we danced all night long. Seven years later I’m still as in love and still dancing with her. It was love at first dance!
