Jake and Lauren’s story began the way many modern love stories do—with a Hinge message and an invitation to go get a treat. Their first date was a simple Friday night ice cream outing, where Lauren was pleasantly surprised to find herself talking for hours with a tall, smiling blonde who loved golf and had big dreams for the future. Lauren expected they would see each other again, so she texted Jake on Monday to ask how his weekend had been. To her surprise, Jake was shocked to receive the text because he wasn't sure she was interested! He quickly asked her on a second date, which included dinner and mini golf. For the next few weeks, they enjoyed weekly dates and got to know each other. After their third date—a hike along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail—Jake called his mom to tell her he had met a girl he really liked. A week later, after not hearing from Jake, Lauren started to wonder if he had lost interest. Determined to find out, she invited him on a Sunday evening walk. That night, they shared their first kiss. After that, they talked every day & started officially dating in early September. Lauren was very clear that she wanted to take things slow. Jake respected that, and together they spent the fall making memories: playing tennis, attending family and friend gatherings, watching football, taking long walks, and enjoying all the holiday festivities. By Christmas, Lauren knew Jake was the one. After finding a wedding magazine in her stocking, Jake casually asked whether she could see their relationship heading in that direction. Lauren laughed because she had already informed her family that she and Jake would be getting married by the end of the summer. Christmas Day seemed like the perfect time to let Jake in on the plan. By March, Jake had purchased a ring and planned a proposal at a scenic river in Kamas—the same place where he had first told Lauren he loved her. We are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together and so grateful to celebrate this special day with all of you on August 22, 2026!
