Travis and Jessica met in middle school in 2003 through happenstance. Jessica had a friend named Ashley that she hung out with regularly. Ashley lived in an apartment complex in high point where Travis happened to live as well. It was love at first sight when they met, but they wouldn't dare admit that. They picked and played and teased each other as any young crush would do. As time went on and they grew up so did their love for one another. Travis was a not a well behaved child and a rebel in every sense. Jessica was a raised in a stable middle class 2 parent home and was a good student for the most part. They were complete opposites but completely infatuated with each other. Jessica's Parents couldn't stand Travis and that made him all the more alluring to her. They dated for a short bit in high school, but it didn't last. As the years passed, they both went their separate ways but would occasionally keep in touch. Even as Jessica was away at college, she would still spend hours on the phone catching up and talking with him. Jessica went on to have 2 kids and so did Travis, but they never lost touch with one another. They would check in every couple of years just to see how things were going and to report on the latest life event; anything from a new car, new baby, break ups, hard times, or birthdays, was up for discussion. He had a way of calming her down and understanding what she was going through without having to be there. She offered advice and told him when he was out of line. Many years and multiple failed relationships had passed before they saw one another again at Travis's moms' Funeral. Even though it was a heart-breaking day filled with tears, when they saw each other it was like seeing each other for the first time as teenagers. They had both grown and changed so much. They exchanged phone numbers that day and have talked every day since then. Travis and Jessica started dating again the next month and by the 3rd month Travis new that he wasn't going to let the girl of his dreams slip away again. He proposed July 29th, 2023, and declared that he had spent so many years praying for a woman like Jess to come along and he wasn't going to lose her again. Even though they had known each other since they were children and liked one another, the good Lord knew that the timing wasn't right. Travis needed to grow up and become a man of God that could support and lead his family while Jessica needed to settle down and get her head out of the clouds. After many years of crossing paths finally their future was sealed. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
