How We Met

2.13.19

We originally met during our freshman year in high school when we shared a class together. We didn't get to know each other though until we shared mutual friends during our senior year. We spent some time together going to group lunches and Jesse picked on me relentlessly! We went our separate ways after graduation. Fast forward eight years to a record breaking snowstorm in Redding, CA in the middle of February. I had just recently moved back to our hometown and Jesse was in town visiting family. I had decided to take my dog out for a fun walk in the snow when Jesse drove by. He recognized me and in typical Jesse fashion, yelled "Hey Loser!" out the window. He stopped and we talked for about 45 minutes in the freezing rain while our dogs played. We had our first date the next day and the rest is history.

The Proposal

7.13.19

Jesse and I spent a gorgeous sunny Saturday lounging out at Whiskeytown Lake enjoying the day and our time together. We had plans to have dinner and go to a movie with his brother Logan, and his girlfriend Jayden, later that evening but I wanted to go home a freshen up after swimming in the lake. While at my parent's house, Jesse asked my parents for their blessing and they said yes! After dinner with everyone, Jesse had me driving all around town until we finally got back to Mary Lake where we reconnected months prior. He had turned on our song and I immediately started sobbing. He parked next to the lake and helped me out of the truck. We walked down to the lake where there was a display of tea light candles that spelled out "Marry Me?" surrounded by red roses. He asked me then to marry him and through all of my tears, I said yes!
