Our Story

Some love stories begin with fireworks. Ours began with a DM.

We actually met through one of our bridesmaids, Taylor who worked with Taylor. At the time, it was just a simple introduction. Little did we know, she introduced us to who would become the most important person in our lives. Life moved on and years passed.. Then came 2020 — when the world slowed down and somehow brought us back to each other. Aubrey sent a simple “Happy Birthday” comment. She claims it was harmless. Taylor insists she made the first move. Aubrey maintains that while she may have slid into the DMs, he was the one who asked to get together. We’ll call it even. With everything shut down, there weren’t many places to go — so we went to the beach. Again and again. What started as casual hangouts turned into hours of talking about everything: our goals, our fears, our childhoods, our dreams. While the world felt uncertain, what we were building felt steady. We will always cherish the time we spent at the beach, because it gave us the space to truly know one another. With nowhere to go and nothing to distract us, we were able to dive deep — to be vulnerable, honest, and open in a way that doesn’t always happen at the beginning of something new. From the very start, we had the hard conversations. There were no activities to fill the silence, no noise to hide behind. If we were going to keep showing up for each other, it had to be because we were building something real — and that’s exactly what we did. Somewhere between beach sunsets and picnics, something real began to grow. About three years later, Taylor brought the story back to where it all began — the beach. The place where we spent hours talking while the world was closed. The place where we fell in love. And there, with the ocean as our witness once again, he asked Aubrey to spend forever with him. And of course, she said yes. 🤍 IT WAS ALWAYS MEANT TO BE As if our story needed more proof that it was written in the stars, one night Taylor mentioned Aubrey’s name to his mom, Mary Ann, and they realized their families had already been weaving the story for them long before they first met. Aubrey’s dad, Martin, Uncle Greg, and Uncle Moe worked alongside Taylor’s grandma Betty, Uncle Fred, and Uncle Sid, while Aubrey’s Aunt Frances lived just down the street from Mary Ann — who happened to be in the same class as Aunt Frances’ sister, Terese. Martin and his six brothers also went to St. Cyprian’s with Mary Ann and her two brothers, and Taylor’s Uncle Fred shared a classroom with Aubrey’s Uncle Jim. And as if fate hadn’t already done enough, Mary Ann also spent over 20 years working alongside Aubrey’s mom Joanne’s childhood best friend, Karen—at the very same time Mary Ann was pregnant with Taylor and Karen was expecting her daughter, Ashley. It turns out their lives had been overlapping for decades, as if their families knew long before they did that one day, their paths would lead to forever. So maybe this wasn’t just coincidence. Maybe it was always meant to be. 🤍
