It all began when we both "swiped right" on a dating app in March of 2020. Our first date was at Russell's Tavern where we spent the evening sharing beers, Patrick proudly using the palm of his hand to help orient Taylor to the geography of Michigan. After hitting if off on the first date, it was only natural to meet up the following weekend for a pseudo second date at Crystal Mountain, spending the entire day skiing together until the lifts closed. Luckily, Taylor’s close encounter with a steak knife where she stabbed herself in the palm unloading the dishwasher a few days prior didn’t hinder things; This also ended up being the last day of the ski season before essentially the world shut down, as we were just at the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic. When the pandemic intensified, we decided to get a little more creative with our dates for a bit. This included sharing music, exchanging baked goods, and even having a couple of virtual dates over Skype, one of which Patrick showed Taylor he could do the splits. After nearly a month of avoiding in person contact, we decided our connection was worth it, and we met up in person to get Poké from Fremont Bowl and watch the movie Parasite. The rest, as they say, is history.
