Our story began at Tennessee Tech University in Fall of 2014. One day, Andy was coming back to New Hall South after class while I (Taylor) was on my way out. As we passed on the stairs, my wallet fell and guess who was there to pick it up? Andy. While we would pass each other every once in a while, I never thought twice about it and carried on with my day. Little did I know, the following summer, we would both intern at Oak Ridge National Lab. At this point, it became pretty obvious to me that Andy had caught the summer feels. Unfortunately, I saw more of a friendship than a relationship. Returning back to school, we happened to get involved with the same ministry in the Fall. At this point, I knew Andy was a great guy and would make the best husband to some lucky girl, but didn't see that person as me. We remained good friends over the next two years, but as Andy accepted a multi-semester co-op in Alabama, and I moved back to Knoxville after graduation to begin working, so our lives were going separate directions. Fast forward to September 2019, my roommate, Sarah Davis was working at the Tennessee Tech career fair. Andy had wrapped up his co-op and was finishing his senior year at Tech. While he was at the career fair, he happened to notice Sarah was there and thought he would pay her a visit. After he did, Sarah immediately gave me a call asking why in the world I wouldn't go out with this guy. She went on and on about how he was the best dressed and so impressive. At that point, I had an open mind to going on a date with him and really getting to know him as more than friends. Luckily, that day, he texted me saying he ran into Sarah and after texting back and forth for a couple of weeks, he eventually asked if I would like to go to the UT vs. Alabama football game that next week. I decided it was time to give this a try.. and I'm so glad I did. Fast forward a year I can't wait to marry my best friend and know that God's timing was perfect.
