How We Met

10.30.21

Neither of us went out to the bar scene very much, but last minute on Halloween weekend 2021 we decided to go out. We had a mutual friend group at The Backyard where TJ first saw Hannah and asked one of his friends "Who is that girl?" At the next bar, TJ waited for Hannah at the door and said "Nice hat" (as she was dressed as Beth Dutton). They ended up talking for hours the rest of the night and realized they had so much in common! The moment they realized they both conceal carry the same gun, they knew there was something. Their first date was at the ranch and Blue Bayou. After exploring the ranch, TJ took Hannah to the top of the hill, opened a bottle of wine with a drill bit (we didn't have a wine bottle opener), and watched the sunset. TJ took a picture of Hannah on their first date of her looking out his passenger window with binoculars (looking for all the different animals). In that picture she had two butterfly clips in her hair, something that was symbolic and came full circle during their engagement, and that will be seen on their wedding day as well. Hannah and TJ share a passion for a laid-back ranch lifestyle, being outdoors, tactical shooting, traveling, and being involved in their community. Since meeting, they have had many fun memories from horseback picnic rides at the ranch, sky diving, spring cattle branding, and adopting a new dog, Beau, who is Bella's best friend. They are so excited for the next chapter together!

The Proposal

7.21.2023

TJ and his family invited Hannah on a "family vacation" to Lake Tahoe, California. On their second day, the family took a hike to Eagle Lake. It was a beautiful hike to the top of the glacial basin where they all cooled off in the cold water. On the way back down, there was a quiet overlook with views of Emerald Bay. TJ and Hannah were sharing a special moment and having a sweet conversation when all of sudden TJ transitioned to one knee and proposed. Hannah was beyond surprised! (She thought he was going to propose in Cabo haha!) After the happy tears and shaking subsided, they turned around to celebrate with the family who was their to celebrate! TJ was so thoughtful to plan the proposal on a hike, something he knew Hannah loved to do. Right after the proposal, as the family was taking pictures. TJ noticed a butterfly flying around us. TJ's dad recognized it as a symbol of his mother, Nora Lee, who had butterfly décor all over her house. It was so special to know she was with them in that moment and is the reason why you will see hints of butterflies throughout out wedding day. Two weeks before TJ and Hannah got engaged, they were baptized at Pirates Cove in Southern California. It was truly a special month and they have continued to grow into their next chapter ever since. PS - TJ & Hannah will be getting married on the anniversary of their engagement!
