One thing Shaun and I are terrible at is taking pictures with each other. So when we were on vacation in Charleston, Shaun surprised me with a one hour session with a local photographer before our dinner reservations (or so I thought). After 45 minutes of taking pictures around downtown, we decided to head to Waterfront Park to get the last couple of shots. Waterfront Park holds a special place in our hearts because it is the first place we took a picture together (with Luna) almost 4 years ago. There were SO MANY people on the dock standing around watching us take pictures. The wind was also whipping and I typically look bald in windy pictures, so it is safe to say I was over it. I looked at Shaun and said "all of these people think we are getting engaged, this is SO awkward, I'm going to look bald in all of these pictures... can we please just be done?" I didn't even give him a chance to answer and started walking away. He grabbed my arm, turned me around and points at a group of people holding a sign that says "MARRY HIM?". I turned around and instantly started bawling, per usual. I had NO CLUE HE WAS ABOUT TO DO THIS!! HOW?! He got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I don't think I even got out Yes, I just nodded because I was speechless (& happy-sobbing). We turned back around and the sign said "SHE SAID YES" and I realized it's our sweet, sweet family holding them! Then out of nowhere a random guy (who was missing a few teeth) that sounded like John-freaking-Mayer started playing an original song with the lyrics "will you be my wife?". Teeth or not, he seriously had the voice of an angel. It was perfect. We can't wait to celebrate our love story with you!
