Travel Note
The Portland Airport (PDX) is about an hour drive away from Hood River. We'd recommend a rental car for the weekend if you can swing it. If not, there are Lyfts and Ubers that will take you one-way from PDX to Hood River. As for getting back to PDX, we've heard good things about the Hood River Taxi service. Local operators. You can pre-schedule rides to and from PDX.
Travel Note
It's hard to find places to stay in the Summer this far in advance in Hood River. Availability may open up in the Spring or Summer closer to August 22nd. We've never not been able to stay somewhere with 5 days' notice. We have privately reserved a number of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Hood River. If you need a place to stay, please reach out to tayjakewedding@gmail.com with a short note.
Travel Note
Hood River is walkable if staying close to "downtown"! There are a few brand name hotels that will do the trick just over the bridge that connect via a walking trail that will take you close to the venue. Their details are below. If you're traveling with a group, we'd recommend staying in an Airbnb or VRBO. There are a ton of vacation properties in Hood River and it's definitely worth it if you can split the stay.

We love to stay here when we visit. The staff is friendly, the lobby is a vibe, and the rooms are cozy and distinct. Bonus points for the cafe that shares a wall ... especially the coffee!

We haven't stayed here personally but this is on the list of recommendations from our wedding coordinator. Quick trip across the bridge to and from the venue. Walkable-ish.
