High School is where it all started. Our crushes were mutual however, we were both in “relationships” so we never admitted it to one another. We were great friends, extremely cool and always keeping it respectful. We expressed our like for one another by always doing something corny to each other. It was our little way of saying, "Hey, I like you" without verbally expressing it.
It was time for College which meant many of us were going separate ways but would stay connected through AIM, MySpace etc. For us, it was Facebook. We would randomly hit each other up just to catch up or be corny. Our friendship continued to build over time and when Nakeya came home the summer of 2007, we were inseparable, attending alllllll the parties, bbqs, celebrations together. Any event you could think of, we were there together and not without the crew. After Nakeya's 20th birthday that summer, we decided “Big Things Popping and Little Things Stopping” which meant we were taking our friendship to a “relationship.” We had an awesome 4 & 1/2 years until that “relationship” came to an end.
Four years passed by of us experiencing life until we decided to be completely open, honest and transparent with one another about what our hearts truly wanted. We decided to give "us" another chance on a level we’ve never experienced. We mutually felt that if not this way, a 2nd time around made no sense. If it was not for GOD we would not have been able to create this indescribable, joyful and blissful relationship that we have now! "You choose me. I choose you. We choose #TeamUs and it gets no better than that!"
